RMSG 2009 Seminar series #1 - Introduction to the Italian Longsword Feb 15, 2009 - 01-16-2009, 02:49 PM

On Sunday, February 15th, the Rocky Mountain Swordplay Guild will be hosting the first in a series of one-day seminars on the Western Martial Arts. This seminar will serve as an introduction to Fiore dei Liberi's 'Fior di Battaglia', a 14th century fighting treatise and specifically the use of the Longsword or Spada e dui Mani. The course will focus on the development of combative skills such as balance, stance, footwork, bladework and the basic plays as taught here at the RMSG using Fiore's longsword poste. No previous martial arts experience or equipment is needed.

This seminar will take place at Sala d'arme Spartani, the RMSGs training facility, located at 10600 W 50th Ave, Unit 10, Wheat Ridge, CO.
Tuition is $65 and will include lunch on Sunday. For more information, contact the Rocky Mountain Swordplay Guild at 303.997.1274 or email Roger

The seminar will run from 9am to 5pm, with dinner afterward for those interested in attending.

Many thanks to the 11 souls who joined me for this seminar. Based on the comments, a good time was had by all, and there are many a sore muscle cursing my name that means I did my job
