Ok, now is time to post something for the "Dark Side"

hoping to have better luck.
Hereunder I'm offering the catalogue depicting *almost all* the
western edged wapons and ancient armor (covering several
centuries from XV c. to present) in the Museum of
Applied Arts in Milano, better known as Museo del Castello
Sforzesco
(
homepage ,
armoury is here, click the n.14, not all items on display)
Collection : Musei e Gallerie di Milano
Title : Museo d'Arti Applicate - Armi Bianche
Author-Curator : Piersergio Allevi
Publisher : Electa - Milano 1998
ISBN 8843562630
Format 25x25x3 cm, 99% illustrated with hundreds of high
quality pictures, mainly b/w but many in color too, showing
in most of the case a single item, sometimes details enlarged
for the best items. This means hundreds of pieces depicted.
Each piece has a caption detailing type, provenience, age,
history, dimensions, signatures or stamps, state of conservation,
inventory number. Sadly
only in italian.
It starts with maille, then we have full armor and armor parts
as helmets, shields, loose armor parts, stirrups, horse furnitures
and armor.
Then Maces, warhammers battleaxes, pikes, falchions, halberds
spears.
Swords, short swords and daggers are the bulk of the book
filling at least half of the total pages. Many artistical pommels
showed (see following pictures)
Then an interesting section about irremediably ruined items
that still have historical interests for their age.
*These items aren't and likely will never be showed in public*.
Closing, arrows, balesters, curious/rare/various weapons,
and 14 pages with 173 different stamps (big and good pictures)
found on the illustrated items with reference number to match
the stamp with the item related. I must
remember my friend Fabrizio Ferranti, now passed away,
for having made the bibliography and catalogation of many of
these items, as quoted under each piece interested.
Hardcover and paper case.
Conditions as new. Open just to take the following pictures.
You get this great book with 100 U$ in favour of Genise.
I'll send it everywhere with shipping fees on my part (it's
quiet huge) after confirmation of donation from Genise.
You don't get the Imperial Guards Sakè Cup with this one.
You save some bucks from Internet sellers and the whole shipping
fees, not to mention the reason of the auction.
Let's talk the pictures. They are taken randomly, no choice
to put in better light the book.
