A bokken - 09-15-2006, 06:07 PM

That i've been working on since January of this year.

The tsuka, not quite finished yet, but you can see the main idea behind it.
Tsuka

The base of the blade, the kanji reads "Satsujinken".
Base

Further up the blade, the kanji reads "katsujinken", and above is my name "Po-Ru" in suji-kake kanji.
Further

The tip, the kanji reads "Kon-Jou No Su Wa small-tsu ta", before anyone says anything, i know there are flaws in the kanji of this pic, i need to fix them, particularly the "wa" and "Kon" (of konjou), but other then that and the weird way it's written it seems to be all OK.
Kissaki

Now a full pic.
Full Pic
I had to take segements and stick them all together using Microsoft Digital Image Editor, but it turned out decent enough.

I call this Konjou no Bokuto, meaning Wooden Sword of Determination/Diligence, the mune was chiseled, i planed it to a very basic chevron shape, then chiseled it until it looked "right", gives it a more traditional look, and it also has a tsuba made of purple heart.

Enjoy the pics, i'll show progress as i finish it up.

Paul.

Understeer is when you hit the guardrail with your front end. Oversteer is when you hit the guardrail with your rear end. Horsepower is how hard you hit the guardrail. Torque is how far you move the guardrail.

Hmm, did you use hishigame for that wrap there?
Looks cool. Did you carve on an already existing bokken, or did you make the bokken itself as well.
Either way, nice job, I love bokken.

Made the whole thing myself from Ash, then finished the blade with Linseed oil and colored the kanji with nail polish .
